As I was browsing internet for some interesting facts on India, I came across some nice ones. I would like to share them with you. I’ll come up with the second part
tomorrow.
1.The official Sanskrit name for India is Bharat Ganarajya. Even today, it is
often called Bharat by young and old.
2.The Pentium chip which we all the Americans take pride in
was developed by an Indian- Vinod Dahm.
3.The world’s largest Montessori school is in India. It has
over 26,000 students!
4.12 million tons of mangoes are grown each year.
5.No other country exports as many bananas, not even Brazil,
which is second.
6.India has become the largest producer of milk in the
world.
7.India has the largest
number of vegetarians in the world.
8.Finger food: Most Indian
food is still traditionally eaten without silverware.
9.All of India — despite the large land-space is on one time
zone. This is, however, half-an-hour different to neighboring countries, making
for a complicated time zone.
