A shocker for sure

Today 774 million adults (15 years & older) still can not read or write. Two- thirds of them (493 million) are woman.Among youth, 123 million are illiterate of which 76 million are female.Even though the size of the global illiterate population is shrinking, the female has remained virtually steady at 63% to 64%.                                          
 Impact: illiterate woman have high levels of fertility & mortality, poor nutritional status, low earning potential, negative impact on the health & well being  of her children. BIDYUT
