GETTING STARTED:-

Let’s start with Indian music. Its’ all started way back to probably two thousand years ago when SamaVeda was written in Vedic periods. The term “samaveda” comes from the Sanskrit words that was ‘saman’( means melody) and ‘Veda’(means knowledge). From there we can understand that the basic elements of music is ‘raga’. (Now the question is what is ‘raga’ ? well in that case I can say those who have some knowledge about music they knows the term very well but those who don’t just check Google. I really don’t want to spoil the whole thing by giving the explanation on ‘Raga’) .the earliest raga that speculate was ‘sama raga’.from the ‘samaveda’ we came to know that how the primitive sound ‘OM’ gave rise to the various notes.
Panini(500BC),
Rikpratisakhya(400BC),Bharat’s Natya Shastra (4th century AD), these
are the books from where we get the first reference of music and the
explanation on the octave (perfect octave is the interval between
one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency.) and it divided into
22 keys.
